There's definitely a problem when the word ' aluminium ' is pronounced ' alooominum '. 

That's because they spell it "aluminum"

Now get off of here... lol

I'm still peeved at America for petitioning Système International to change the spelling of Sulphur & Litre so the scientific standard is now sulfur ( yuk!). They spell litre as liter which my brain always wants to pronounce as light-er not lee-ter.
