My buyer was initially very responsive + willing to change the low detail seller rating. However, since I was told by 4 different ebay customer service agents that under no circumstances could it be changed - I sort of left it at that with the buyer - both of us saying to each other - what a shame - as I would have given her a full refund including postage + she would have been happy to change the feedback if she could - now both of us were left in a bad situation.
It was only after reading your post - that I continued asking customer service if they were sure it could not be changed. I think on the sixth attempt an agent did eventually say what you did - that the buyer could ask for it to be removed.
I've asked the buyer to do this but I'm not getting a response now - so not hopeful it will be changed.
This is just beyond annoying + I think is more eBay fault for the long delay in somebody being able to tell me what to do to fix it - thereby losing the momentum I had with the buyer + their willingness to change it.
I've even complained to eBay about this + got yet another response with the same rubbish that low DSRs can't be changed or removed (when we know it can!) + lots of advice about how I should go about packing items etc to avoid low DSRs - SUPER ANNOYING when I already do all those things.
Sorry about the rant - but the whole thing was just ridiculous!!
