hi. not enough people complain about things do they :(. good for you. though i would have still complained because the po person wouldnt have been in trouble as he didnt need to be mentioned & you were still out the return post . cheers

still as another poster mentioned why are the stamps not cancelled ? cheers

They should cancel them when I hand them over so technically it is my local post offices fault. Assuming as I understand it as acceptance of the fee.

hi,

hi, saw a post re staff & had to say ..

some staff , how many ??, dont know what they are supposed to..any wonder auspost suffered a loss & increases parcel post to make up for it. this eventually wont ,as ebay sellers will soon see, the increase post makes most items sold for a bare mimimum to cover fees & a little over , not competative with land stores now, esp during sales 😞

a few years ago my son was selling xbox steering wheels in boxes. we knew the meas & calculated the post before going to post them. on so many occasions at different POs the staff miscalculated the post finally agreeing we were correct. if we hadnt done that prior we would ve lost a lot of money in total.

then during the change in parcel rates i was concerned about a 5kg satchel & overstuffing it.i hadnt used one before. also stock online was sold out. i phoned the only PO i found, online, opened on a sat & when i asked if i could use a box or another satchel with the 5kg label (i had a large one sent to me from a store) she replied confidently that it would be ok & a lot of people she sees do that . i wasnt convinced somehow after re-reading the site. i decided to buy one over the counter. i then phoned auspost on the monday & was told ,no no that is not allowed. items must be in the container the label applies to !

sheesh 😞  ..

I think australia post are are a joke in their pricing. A BX4 box that had a 15kg limit is now 5kg, whats with that?

They complain about less letters, were are the cheers for all the parcels and the increased parcel rates. They even have a digital maylbox now, a little late....

Do people even collect stamps now?

I don't quite follow what you mean. The service is payed for and the servicing begins...

Hi,

Sorry to drag up an old thread just wanted to know if anyone else had this problem and add my 2 cents worth. I have been searching to see if anyone has this same problem issue, and stumbled on this post (probably the only post I can  freally find). I regularly send items that fit under the 20mm limit in prepaid envelopes or padded envelopes. However once or twice a month I get buyers that are charged random amounts on pickup from their post office (usually $5.20 underpaid small parcel rate). Again this is for items sent as large letters and that fit under the 20mm. My address is always provided on the back with printed labels. The odd thing is I occasionally also get a central office over charges for the same items (effectively double charged). I assume occasionally the contents can move in some way that they become parcels? Though even this I find a bit of a stretch to explain why they do this? Talking with Auspost they assure me that my customers would not be charged if I had a clear printed return address, obviously this isn’t that case and over enthusiastic? uninformed? employees sometimes whack these stickers on (regardless if they are correct or not). I have found that this happened more with certain post offices, that one or two have been repeat offenders. I assume these must be franchise offices? maybe looking to make a quick buck? I guess what I have got from all this is that no one is really in charge at Auspost, You can talk to central office but employees, offices, etc all make up their own rules from time to time and there isn’t much that can be done about it. I always refund my customers if this happens and it’s just an unfortunate part of business if choosing to send things as large letter. Cheers Chris
