Actually I left a FACTUAL comment.  

The purpose of this is to communicate to other sellers of a buyer's past behaviour.  It's VERY useful to other sellers, with so many problems with continual non-payers and it's the only way to show a more accurate history.

If it's just a one-off for the buyer, then it will be lost in their feedback pages eventually.  But I've seen many cases of repeat offenders through sellers flagging them this way..... VERY useful to know and build my BBL. 

Next time I'll put "Great buyer!! Didn't pay for item, UPI recorded"  😛

It may well be factual, but it is still a negative comment under a positive green dot. EBay frown on that. It also boosts their feedback score, regardless of your reasons. Why give someone a nice green dot and another point to their feedback score when they don't deserve it? Someone with only 18 feedback would relish getting that extra point to their feedback.

If the buyer reports that feedback, it will be removed, but the green dot stays. You could also have your account suspended. So, in the end, the buyer wins because they have a green dot with no negative message, they get an extra point on their feedback score and your account get suspended.

It looks to be a one off for that buyer and given they were scammed by a previous seller who is actively engaging in shill bidding,maybe they were just over ebay.JMO

Having a different opinion than someone else and presenting the case is one thing, but my goodness berating other sellers for leaving a non-hysterical truthful comment for a non payer is a bit over the top IMO.

I also leave honest comments for all my buyers, and have done for several years.  I do not expect them to be removed as IMO my comments are within the eBay feedback policy parametres.  eBay has also never advised me that any of my comments have been removed.

I have little doubt that at least some of the comments I have left have, along with other sellers, provided a useful heads up to other sellers when non-paying pests have purchased their items not to drag their feet with opening an unpaid dispute.

Feedback is subjective and is removed regularly, with very few buyers or sellers ever reporting sanction by eBay on the boards due to a comment they left being removed.  That is not to say that does not happen, but who really knows, eBays application of their own policies is random at best.

There are loopholes that allow feedback to be left after a non payment case is closed and a strike has been issued. 

Which conclusion ? The shill bidding ? I found it easily.

Gosh I think that "relish" is quite over the top lol.

I doubt that many non payers would relish getting a feedback comment to take them from 17 to 18 feedback by a seller leaving a honest comment revealing their non payment habit. 

Um Cats-where did you get the 'non paying habit' from ?
