And as for feedback, there were 2-3 that left bad feedback because of this but my overall feedback is still 99.6 of >12000. To achieve that you need to consistently provide good service.

feedback % is only based on the last 12 months of feedback.  Your 99.6% rating is only based on 2698 feedbacks received, not >12000

Very interesting.  I've only ever used it to sell a car, but my daughter uses it from time to time and quite a few of her friends use it.  She recently put an ad on there for her rental house and within just a couple of hours was flooded with responses - so much so she stopped the ad the same night, or maybe it was the next day, anyway, she had  like an Open House the next day and had applicants fill in Forms, we didn't know how else to cope with the response.  We couldn't believe it.  But I guess it depends whay you're offering, but you do hear a lot of people talking about it these days, many say they favour it to eBay, maybe because it seems more user friendly . . . . . .

Or then again,  Some of the advertisements on there ....  eeewwww.....

Not that I want to see any yukky stuff, but now you have me curious . . . . . . .

199 negs in a month from the link in earlier post. That's a lot of unhappy buyers, many of who probably get put off buying on eBay again.

ok and it is still very good.

I accept that . . . . but if you are calling eBay to try to get the decision overturned on the basis that you are a long term member you have probably been reminding them about your 99.6% feedback and if you also state that it is "99.6% for >12000 transactions" all you are doing is showing that despite your years of experience you don't understand how feedback % is calculated.

That is the reason I brought it up.

Good luck with this situation you find yourself in.

Is there any evidence of anyone actually having the account reinstated? I am yet to see one as yet but i may be wrong.

I have seen exactly one.

Abother DVD seller who was dropshipping, wasn't really able to fathom the actual reason for the suspension (it was well before the defect system was introduced) but was indefinitely suspended from selling.

They eventually managed to have the decision overturned, pretty much through sheer will and perserverance - it was an exception to the rule, but at least it shows exceptions are possible, however few and far between.

Digi, I remember that case.  The seller was getting his stock from a well known and respected source (Amazon I think) but was suspended for selling fake/pirated DVDs.

Ebay refused to even look at the invoices from his supplier.

I'm hearing you.  A lot of Sellers either moved over there or at least listed there earlier in the year when the fvf on postage debacle was the big issue, but while it seems to be a very user friendly site, management need to realise the potential and among other things make some serious system improvements for new Buyers . . . . . .
