Afterpay on Ebay

Any news yet on "Afterpay" officially starting on Ebay early 2020. It sure would be handy to be able to use it for purchases. Amazon now have Zippay, so that's a fair amount of competition for Ebay.

I've no further official Afterpay news, but for a critical look at Afterpay, can I suggest that you look at the Gruen episode which covers Afterpay and that absolutely REPULSIVE Zip pay featuring a suggestive inflatable flamingo...?

That suggests it will (thankfully) be seller-opt in, and possibly for storeholders (or maybe even registered businesses) only, as 40k seems a bit on the low side if we're talking about all sellers registered on eBay AU. 

It also means it will only be available from Australian sellers - no OS purchases, and likely no OS sellers even if their items really are in Aus. 

It can't happen until eBay rolls out its own payment system, anyway, and unless they decide to surprise us with that in the next couple of months, I wouldn't hold my breath waiting for Afterpay here. 

Also, I hope I never hear about someone hassling sellers to offer the service if / when it does get implemented....
