Chinese companies are ripping people off by selling their inverters with a listed rating of double or more their actual rating. So unless you can buy it for half or less of the listed price you are getting ripped off

thanks for letting us know. It is a shame that few people who would be looking for inverters would actually read these boards as only a small % of members do visit the boards.

By the way, what exactly is an inverter? The picture in my head is something that turns you upside down, kinda like those bars you put across the top of a doorway that you hang on by your ankles

An inverter converts solar power to power for electrical equipment. I thi k the rules regarding feedback need to be changed as a lot of items should be resonably expevted to last alot longer than just past the feedback time limit

depends on what type of inverter you are talking about one inverter converts 12 v dc into 240vac. some you can plug into a cars 12 volt cigarette lighter and you have an output of 240 v to power your laptop ect or you can get inverters for caravans that have a much higher watt rating to power the fridge/ tv that runs of a 12v battery being constantly charged inside the caravan.

You also get special inverters for solar power, (though im not to sure what the inverter for solar does)

When we installed solar my forensic husband (lol) researched like crazy prior so he would know exactly what to buy and how much and how many panels size of inverter etc blah blah blah , he read all the reviews........the inverters and panels made in China have absolute garbage reviews, the best reviews were for the systems made in Germany, so in the end this is what we went with. It is definitely more expensive but its worth it to have peace of mind.

An inverter converts DC to AC, so a solar one would do what they all do as the solar power would be DC.
