I purchased an item and it was marked shipped but the tracking number shows nothing still after 5 days.

5 days, is that working days or just consecutive days?
Either way too early to start panicking regardless of where the item is coming from.

somtimes tracking will not show anything from lodgement until you collect it.

if it's through Australia Post, they're known for not updating their tracking website.

I posted an article on a Saturday in Melbourne - 6 days later, the buyer posted feedback, as he'd recieved the goods, in FNQ, but AP website still showed as only being recieved at the Post Office where I lodged it!

As others have stated, more info would be appreciated.

Also worth checking with the Seller if the Tracking Number they have uploaded is correct.

I sent a couple of parcels over the Christmas period and transposed some numbers when uploading the Tracking Numbers thus, no info on AP website.  I checked the progress myself, found nothing, checked the numbers, saw the error and corrected the mistake, I think before even the Buyer had realised I'd made the blunder.
