The single biggest problem with Afghanistan is that the people and the 'tribes' don't want a Nation.

The problem there - was trying to turn a millenium or 2 - from a Theocracy into a Democracy.

Good clip and revealing. Vietnam all over again. Maybe worse. More damaged human beings returned. Damaged Human beings damaged due to war and lies.

Bush, Bliar and Howard should be held to account.

I think you'll have an uphill battle bringing Bliar to account. ๐Ÿคฃ

Remembering back nearly 20 years ago the gung ho "Let's get 'em" attitude of many arm chair warriors, I laugh today at their continued justification for their stance by some as well as the silence, changing of subject by others.

It was never about terrorism or democracy. It was all about arms companies and private contractors raking in the money. The major arms dealing countries have a lot of blood on their hands, particularly the U.S and the U.K.

Australia is trying to emulate them. Former LNP ministers Reith and Pyne left government to become gun runners. I wonder how many murderous regimes Australia is providing weapons to.

Well said. And I remember an Englishman, a former MI5 agent I believe, giving a good account of why that country was invaded.

Watch a documentary about the Iran Contra affair back to back with Air America starring Mel Gibson and something else will come to mind.

Many people do not remember or forget that Afghanistan has a Communist history. And depending on what you read, the Russians either were invited or they invaded 42 odd years ago. I think one thing is clear though, the reasons given by the US for their involvement back then were, well .. .. .. .. let's say, not that accurate.
