Standing at the coffee machine waiting my turn while a colleague of mine was extolling the virtues of out staff room toaster by Breville. Then went on to say how much she loved her Breville food processor and the many uses she puts it to.
I commented on how lucky we are in our time to have so many gadgets invented for us.
My personal favourite is the electric toothbrush. I use it twice a day and it's better than secks IMO.

Shampoo and blow dry at the hairdresser's and I commented on how did we ever style our hair without the blowdryer or straightener.
Then I remembered:
We used rollers, like Agnes lol.

We live in such an age of inventions that it would take forever to think of all of them and list them. When I have discussed this sort of thing with friends before, I have always started with electricty - it's not exactly a gadget, but most modern gadgets wouldn't exist without it:

And closely followed by electricity in importance in my opinion, is the discovery of the transistor - tiny electrical on/off switches. Modern electronic and computer based gadgets wouldn't exist without them:

That will do for a start I think. I am just about to send this from my computer (gadget) here in the UK to Australia via the internet (gadget) - it will take just a few seconds. How's that for a wonder 'gadget'? (using electricity and transistors - and fibre optic cable, another essential modern gadget...).

not at all sad they are wonderful and like baybizz said in the blink of a eye you can talk to people thousands of miles away and they are so handy for finding out information that you used to have to go to the library for (if you could be bothered) great to solve disputes on different ideas, won a few lost afew there lol

I look down my nose at the likes of popcorn makers, icecream makers and hot dog makers a bit.

The battery-powered vibrator........it relieves those tensions that tend to interfere with a good night's rest........
