Is the mattress topper just a mattress protector Flashie?
We use both - electric blanket directly on mattress and then mattress protector over it and under the bottom sheet.
Works for us and stops you lying directly on the blanket wiring (even just through the sheet).

The topper is one of those ones from a line party that cost a mortgage payment.....so it should be a good one.
We have never had electric blankets here.................but our son has been given one relatively new......and I was not sure if he could use both

i have a feather and down topper and i was told not to use an electric blanket with it.

Flashie
Not sure of the sort you are referring to ....... sounds a lot thicker than a simple mattress protector and if that is the case the electric blanket would possibly be ineffectual if used under it.
Did the topper come with any instructions other than 'put it on the mattress'? lol

I had a bit of a look on the net and the general feel is that it is OK....just do not leave it on all night.
Laney.....it is like a doona........and a fitted sheet all in one.....and goes over the mattress....but under the sheet.
Thanks for the replies.

I chuck my doona off and rely on the ceiling fan to be comfortable enough to sleep.
Electric blanket + doona OMG hot hot hot
