Keenan to attack IS propaganda machine

AUSTRALIA'S new counter terrorism minister says he'll be focusing on undermining Islamic State's propaganda efforts.

MICHAEL Keenan says he's disturbed by fresh reports of Australians heading to conflict zones in the Middle East, including one of a Sydney mother who abandoned her young children for a new life with Islamic State in Syria.

"We want to make sure that Australians are getting better messaging online - make sure we are doing everything we can to stop this propaganda being able to draw Australians in," he's told the Seven Network.

Mr Keenan said he would be working closely with the Muslim community to undermine efforts by IS to recruit Australians.

"There is a very small section of the Australian population that is susceptible to the propaganda that is coming out of the Middle East," he said.

"We want to work with the communities to identify people who may be moving down the wrong path and make sure they stop going down that path. It is a hateful ideology."

Minister Keenan imagine how the majority of Australians feel. The gatekeepers, our immigration officials, have managed to allow people like Man Monis into our country instead of punting him. Not only that his stories of being 'oppressed' and 'persecuted' were never tested.

I say let's put all those officials who abused the Dunning-Kruger effect in charge and we'll all feel a lot safer.

The first place they need to clean up is the Internet

Surely there must be some way to delete

Isis propaganda so they cannot infiltrate people's homes

They should appiont a board of censors that filter anything

Related to a federal data board for investigation

Is this possible

Don't see why not they do it here all the time

I said in one post "bleep"and it was deleted

Someone must be running the Internet as a whole

And the mods move a post

If it's in the wrong listing

So do this for terrorist activity

Sydney mother Jasmina Milovanov 'left children' to join IS fight in Syria

NSW Police could not confirm a News Corp Australia report that Ms Milovanov left her son and daughter with a babysitter earlier this month while she said she was going to pick up a new car.

Ms Milovanov never returned home, and later sent a text message to her estranged husband saying she had travelled to Syria, the newspaper reported.

Yes but that is politspeek.   I'd prefer them to say they are  disturbed rather than panicked or terrified.
