but i think most of us would have to say this federal govt is about as bad a govt the country has ever endured.

they are lurching from one massive screwup to the next.

So far as I can see, both sides are as bad as each other, and have been for a very long time. Sadly, there's no viable third alternative to Labor and Liberal; all the minors are either dysfunctional to the point of not being capable of governing, or exactly the sort you'd never trust with any sort of power.

I've always thought that there are three basic types of politician:

1) The incompetent f-wit who can't find their own backside even with an office full of staff helping

2) The greedy, money-grubbing crook who spends all their time doing shady deals to line their pockets

3) The decent, honest, hard-working type who genuinely wants to help make things better - and never gets anywhere because they're always outvoted by types 1 and 2...
