Telstra is set to unveil its 5G

Telstra is set to unveil its next generation mobile plans, but is 5G a revolution or just evolution?

i had teltras 4G mobile internet for 4 or 5 years before the not so great NBN arrived.

4G was super expensive at $120pm for a measly 15gb of download.

i suspect 5G will be similar.

i now have NBN unlimited download for $99pm.

if the NBN didnt have the stupid last kilometre copper wire strangling its speed it would fly.

i can only presume it was done that way so that companys wanting to sell 5G would maybe have a market.

will we ever see that copper wire torn out and a nice fibre cable all the way to our houses?

i hope so but i'm not holding my breath.

Of no interest to us.

We need an antenna plugged into our mobile to get phone coverage and use satellite internet.

And no, we don't live in the middle of nowhere, just at the lower inland end of the NSW mid north coast.
