Turning off life support caused surgeon's death, not punch, court told

https://www.abc.net.au/news/2018-10-22/heart-surgeons-death-may-not-have-been-caused-by-fatal-punch/...

every time i read of some lawyer trying to get their client 'off' by using some weird way of looking at the crime, i think, gee i hope one day your in the position of having a lawyer argue a similar defence against a criminal whos taken your loved ones life.

the guys client gave the doctor a punch in the face, now the doctor is dead. had your client kept his fists to himself the doctor would have walked away.

end of story!

who knows, maybe the doctor would have been hit by a bus outside the hospital and killed, try that as an excuse why your clients not responsible.

It is outrageous how lawyers and their clients attempt to manipulate both the law & responsibilities.

Worse still, is that far too often the Judge or Magistrate will go along with it.

Even they don't, a lot of these crims are being handed weak sentences.

They might as well give them six cuts of the cane, and tell them them not to do it again,

and as most of us know, the victims rights are outweighed by the rights of the criminal.

and his punishment for killing another human for nothing more than doing the right thing?

i wonder how long in prison.

going by many previous examples maybe 12 years with a non parole term of 9 years.

pity we lost sight of the idea a life meant something.
