There are approx 100,000 homeless people in Aust, yet the liberal gov wants to spent 100 million dollars on a prebicite re gay marriage .... Surely this money could be used ( better spent ) providing a home for our homeless?

Getting back to the original question on the Gay Marriage Referendum.
The people should have their say.
And it's the people who are funding it, after all, via their taxes.

As a tax payer, i can think of far better ways for the lib gov to spend my hard earned $$$$

True.
But you'd want to have a say, and you're getting one, so make sure it counts.

Not really ... my care factor re same sex marriage is zero ..... far more important items for the gov to worrying about atm ..... eg housing our homeless

Quite right about the $$$$$$$ spent.
Why should we have to decide the future of others.
They are adults - they should be able to live as we all do.
Without fear or favour - this is 2017 - civil, church, whatever.

I wish we didn't have to vote. It's not of my business if two people want to get married. enough hate in the world, needs more love.
