Yay! The Bridge Is Back!

The Bridge (Danish) Broen; Swedish: Bron) is a Scandinavian crime drama television series, co-produced by Sveriges Television and Danmarks Radio as well as German ZDF, two series of which have so far been completed.

I was so excited last night that it was back on. Unfortunately it's on fairly late, 9.30 pm, so I snoozed off for a few mins then I had to ask OH what happened.

That always gives him the shirts. Sub-titles are helpful, lol.

It's as good as ever:

"The second series starts thirteen months after the end of the first series.

A coaster veers off course and rams into the Øresund Bridge Saga arrives on the scene and finds the ship deserted save for five people – three Swedish and two Danish – chained below deck. Saga arranges to have Martin assigned to the case."

Martin has gone gray and Saga who has trouble connecting has found a man friend....

Can't wait til the next episode!

Thanks icy, didn't know about it as I don't watch much television.

Will have a look.  I liked The Eagle.

(I don't need subtitles either Smiley Happy)

My favourite was Borgen. Also Wallander, not sure if that is Danish though.

I liked Wallander as well, Jenni.

I don't think I've ever seen Borgen.

I think you'd like The Bridge if you liked Wallander.

The Oresund Bridge itself is pretty amazing:

"The Öresund Bridge is a combined two-track rail and four-lane road bridge-tunnel across the Öresund strait. It is the longest combined road and rail bridge in Europe and connects the two metropolitan areas of the Öresund Region: the Danish capital of Copenhagen and the Swedish city of Malmö.  The bridge is the longest border crossing bridge in the world."

Oresund Bridge opened in 2000 and has both road and rail traffic from Copenhagen in Denmark to Malmo in Sweden. This video shows the progress of the project challenges that the designers, engineers, and construction teams face.

The Killing was what got me hooked on the Danish and Swedish Crime shows.

Sarah Lund was just so GRITTY!

Another good European crime series is the french "Spiral".

I do like Wallander, both the original Swedish with subtitles, and the later one in English with Kenneth Branagh (?).

I only turn on the tv when there is something I really want to watch.

I shall check out the other Scandinavian shows too.

I was disappointed when Luther finished.

I found Wallander and Luther intelligent and gritty..

Another big fan of The Bridge here.  Interesting to see the changes they are bringing into Martin's mental condition.  I couldn't get past the first episode of the US version of this series.

However, having watched them both, I much prefer Kenneth Branagh's Wallender to the original.

I was stuck on Luther as well. You want to know how it finishes but you don't want it to be over lol.
