Change email address but linked with my existing duplicate account I don't use

I thought I was using my account associated with the email address I use most (@gmail.com). I was going to close this account so I could update my email address on the account I use most (@theaussiechic.com), but when going through it said that I would not be able to use @gmail.com email address again. The email address with my main account (@theaussiechic.com) is going to be closed soon so I need it to be updated to the other address. Can anyone help me with this?

Every eBay account requires a different email address.

If an eBay account is closed, the email addy linked to that account cannot be used as it will still show as allocated to an eBay account on the system for a long time. Account closure takes 6 months to be finalised and the email cannot be used for a period after that if at all.
