If item is destroyed in post can I cancel the transaction

Hi all,

I have recently sold an antique australian pottery bowl which was delivered to the buyer smashed to pieces, can I cancel the transaction if buyer agrees? thus not having to pay a final value fee etc? I'd be grateful for any advice Annie
