lack of ebay common sense

I had a buyer who claims item new in box was not new

At my expense (I paid for return postage label) buyer did not return item but something totally different.

Ebay in their wisdom say they don't get involved with wether item is new or not, state buyer has proof return item was returned

so they find in buyers favour.

Buyer is given full refund, able to keep item, and as item is under warranty can then get a refund from store chain that I purchased from as well.

To top it off ebay have now given me a defect.

In effect ebay is allowing any buyer to make false and unsubstantiated claims, letting them keep the item and granting the buyer a refund.

Everything you sell on ebay is open to this fraudulent behaviour. Not only do ebay do nothing to assist the seller if you try and seek assistance you are then penalised with a defect.

I would be calling eBay and asking to speak with a manager.

Don't back down until you can speak to someone knowledgeable prepared to look at your case.

Naturally I am not advocating it but I would be tempted to buy something from them with a different ID if they sell. Smiley Wink
