Sold a $10.00 item but as the buyer lives within 50 km the postage is less than quoted. She had paid immediately via paypal. I've refunded her $3.65 also via paypal which is my policy as I only charge the exact postage. How do I alter the final amount so I don't have to pay fees on the refunded portion.

You cant, ebay take their fee on the amount the buyer pays, if they dont wait for an invoice and pay too much, its too bad for the seller. Ebays line is that sellers should 'educate' thier buyers to wait for an invoice. In reality, your fee is less than 36c on that amount.
