if I want a 7 day auction to end on a Friday evening, when should I list it

make sure you start the auction at a price you are happy to get for the item if you are intent on listing your item with a Friday finishing time.  The reason I write this is that if you get loads of watchers who intend to bid at the end they might experience difficulty bidding on a Friday.  This means that anyone who bids well before the end, say Thursday evening, may end up winning your item with just one bid being registered.  Astute buyers are aware of this and have managed to snag a bargain or two by bidding on Thursday night knowing that all those who intend to snipe at the end may end up not being able to bid, and there is nothing you can do to stop this . . . . . apart from AVOIDING FRIDAY end times.
