Accept an offer...i have an item at auction but have received a high offer

How do i accept an offer when i have an item at auction and when i hit the respond to buyer offer it takes me to original listing and i can not see where to accept the highet offer

I'm pretty sure that if there are bids on an item then the "best offer" function is no longer available.

Yes, the Make an Offer button should disappear as soon as a bid is placed. I wonder if the OP means he received an offer in a PM?

what is the item? How much did you expect the auction to reach?  How much was the 'high offer'?

My reason for asking is that unusually high offers on some items can be indicative of a scam.  Your answers will inform us so we can assess the situation.
