Can I send a small item as a letter rather than a parcel?

Hi there,

I sold a small rubber baby teether and was wondering if it can be sent as a letter rather than a parcel? The item is small enough to go into a letterbox but my concern is that the package may get bent in the delivery process and the buyer may not be happy with it. For those who had similiar experiences, what shoud I do?

Regards,

Yes if the item is no wider than 20mm.  You can make a smaill cardboard box or buy a CD mailer from the post office which will provide protection.

With items that can end up bent in the mail, use two pieces of cardboard around it which have the opposite grain e.g. one where the corrugation is vertical and the other where it is horizontal. I have done this with footy cards (cheap cards which didn't require a hard plastic protector) and stamps for years and haven't had a single complaint (yet...)

Just make sure it stays below 2cm thick or it will be $8.95 at the counter instead of $2.20.
