Correct me if I'm Wrong ......First page listings....

Hey Guys

Over the last 2-3 weeks I've been in deep discussion with ebays customer service "specialist" Team , Regarding a few things , One being "Top Listings" Ie Page 1 full expossure selling Lots ...Now Im finding listings that are not even in the right catergory and listed in 2 others , Taking top spots in the search engine in  catergories there not related to ????? and also using non related key words in there titles , yet the people like us selling the genuine products in the correct catergories are still down on page 222 with 18 views fo the month ?? thoughts please......

my thoughts are, not everyone can be on first page rankings. It does not just have to do with titles and listing in correct categories as to where you are placed. It has more to do with sales history as far as I can tell. You are going to drive yourself nuts trying to work out and then maintain the algorithm for page one rankings. let go of it.

That's why you will always have so many cheap items on the first page as they sell more often,(so they have

sales history).

Plenty have tried to work it out but all seem to have given up in disgust as eBay set the "rules" to suit

themselves,(their only interest is that items must sell to bring them the dollars and cents).

Ever since they removed some genres my sales have nosedived,stubborn_smiley_by_mirz123-d4bt0te_zps12f1a5a3.gif

Yes you are correct .....What i am trying to work out is .........

Why have categories ? When non related items to that specific category feature in the first 1-3 pages + when searched ? Annoying for both sellers and potential buyers , sifting through non related items .

Why don't ebay act upon this ... Clearly states in listing policys " NO KEYWORD SPAMMING" "ITEMS MUST BE LISTED IN APPROPRIATE CATEGORY" Ie items must be related to that category ....

So even if the 95% of us did get the algorithm correct it wouldnt matter .....
