Does ebay just remove your out of stock listings?

I just found this morning that my listing number went down by 1, and it happened before but I thought maybe I remembered it incorrectly. But I went through my listings this morning, and realised that one of the 'out of stock' listings is not there anymore, looks just like ebay removed it, is that true? If a listing is 'out of stock' for a certain period of time, ebay just remove it????!!!!

Yes that is correct, I think the period is three months but it's been a while since I've had one removed so the time frame may have been reduced.
