Fulfillment companies for ebayers.

Hello folks, as a small seller on ebay I have had a devil of a job trying to get a fulfillment company to handle my needs.  I live O/S about 8 months of the year so I have been using my brother as my warehouse guy....that plus rent on storage has gobbled up most of my profit.  And my brother is becoming annoying with his needs coming first, slack attitude to dispatch, days of during the week, wanting more money, etc....I am sick of it!

I have contacted every company I could find on the net.  2 in Adelaide that are to costly, one American company only interested in 10,000 pallets a month jobs, I did hear from Shipwire but nothing came of that,  Viking Logistics in Sydney sent prices but won't answer further emails, PikPak in Melbourne replied but I would need a Collins St barrister to go through their terms and conditions!

The rest just didn't bother replying to my emails.

What I would like to know is, is there a fulfillment company on the East coast of Australia that will work with me?

Will welcome any suggestions.

Thanks

I have no idea what these companies charge but essentially you are wanting someone to run your business for you.

Do you really have a high enough turnover (and hence profit) that the business will be able to carry the extra overheads and still be viable?

I always back away when I see terms like fulfillment.

Usually means one party is wanting to get something for buggaall. Like conning your brother into running your business for you, then wondering why he would prioritise his life after realising  he is being treated like a slave.

How dare your brother put his own needs before yours. Selfish pratt. I'd disown him. No-one has a right to put their own life and needs before someone else. Have you called the police and tried to have him arrested?

We looked at a company to store and dispatch some of our products but most are too expensive unless the volumes are very high.

Rather than a company specialising in the field, I would be looking for a small seller with a warehouse who would love some extra work. Someone already set up perhaps in similar industry complementing both your range and his range of products.

If you are in Melbourne, I know of a small business supplying machinery n tooling to engineers.

So what is smart Alec about my answer?

It is always nice for the responders to feel that their help is appreciated....and you certainly do not make me feel that way.

Lyn's response was neutral and sound.

If there is no easy way to find a company to fulfill your orders, have you tried having a polite, non-emotion driven talk with your brother?

discuss his work ethic (if lacking) and what his pay expectations are. That will at least keep you covered until you find an alternative. I assume you are paying him the legal minimum requirement plus any other required benefits? If you are not sure about that, it might be easier to try to keep him happier in the job than to find someone else.

The company that gave you prices, if you were happy enough with that, try giving them another call.

good luck.

I would, except that I seem to be a smart Alec, and you seem to be a user.

I tend to slant my advice towards a member's demonstrated authenticity.

Unfortunately, you don't authenticate.
