We are currently in America, but are returning home soon. Can we send the sold item in America, and hen return home and still receive the money

You could send the sold item from anywhere in the world,  but obviously the postage will be far more if sending back to Australia.

I am assuming you are registered for managed payments (have to be),  so again it can go into your bank account here in oz.

I asked eBay for you and they asked for more info.  I explained that sirteddi_5 asked about it and they said I can't ask on your behalf because I'm another user and it's not my account / problem.

You'll have to contact eBay yourself to work out if the money will be sent to your bank account once you resettle in Australia.  My guess is you'll have to change the bank account linked to your eBay account back to an Australian bank account which matches your Australian address, and that requires proof of ID and such, so best you talk to eBay about it.
