How can I, a seller, pay for Global Shipping on behalf of the buyer?

I buy and sell high end basketball trading cards from the UK. It's hard enough getting eBay's algorithms to sell an American product to Americans (from the UK) without the added pain of a shipping fee that now costs SIX times that of US based competitors. You don't have to use the Global Shipping Program. You can opt out of it whenever you wish.

From the eBay website:

You can opt out of the Global Shipping program at any time. Here's how:

  1. Go to Manage Shipping Preferences.
  2. Select Edit beside Global Shipping Program.
  3. Select Opt Out. Please note it may take up to 72 hours to process your request.

Might pay to post your concerns on the eBay.co.uk boards.
