So thanks to this new no HTTP rule all of our 1200 odd listings are in violation

This listing template was set up for us years ago, it has images for our Temrs and Conditions etc which we host on our own server.  Apparently this is no good.  We did this because when we last moved address it took us something like 2 months to update each and every listing with where we are located which is needed as many of our items can not be posted

What I am hoping for is some recommendations of companies or people who specialise in listing set up that do not charge the earth

If anyone knows someone or can recommend would be appreciated

Hi Mitsfix,

What you need to do is purchase an SSL (Secure Sockets Layer) certificate so that your links will begin with https:// (compliant) instead of http:// (non-compliant).

You should be able to purchase one through your domain provider. I did this recently (as all of my listings were non-compliant); the SSL certificate cost me $30 for a year.

If your domain provider doesn't provide SSL,  I can recommend ICDSoft. They have offices in the US and Hong Kong, and I've used them for almost 10 years and have never had a problem with them. They offer 24/7 customer support, and they usually answer emails within half an hour.

As for actually changing your links from http:// to https://, I'm not sure if you could do that using the bulk edit tool? I actually haven't had time to update mine yet, despite obtaining the SSL certificate.

I already have the cert so tried with one of the listings by changing it to https and it looks like it worked

Only issue now is I have 1200 more listings to get done 😞

I, too, was tearing my hair out over this because even once I got the security certificate installed on my image hosting (totally freeee through Dreamhost!), I had no idea how to bulk-edit 500+ listings. Thanks to a super-helpful eBay rep though, Mariel C, I had it done incredibly quickly and easily in bulk. The steps to follow are:

This is how to locate the HTTP listings:

1. On top of the eBay logo on the upper left side you can see there 'G'day *your eBay username*' please hover your mouse on that page and then click 'Account Settings'.

2.After clicking account setting please look for the word 'Activity'

3. After clicking activity on the left side you can see there the word 'List' and under list please click the word 'All selling'.

4.It will prompt you to the page where you can see Your Performance-Monthly selling limits- Selling Reminders.

5. Under selling reminders you can see there "Remove HTTP content from your listings for Remove HTTP content from your listings for *however many you have* listings' and then click the highlighted number *however many you have* listings.

This is how to change the HTTP to HTTPS:

1.Once you click the *however many you have* listings it will prompt you to a page where you can see all the listings that has an HTTPS issue.

2.Below Results please look for the word 'Actions' on the left side of actions there is a tick box please click that and then all of your listing will be marked as CHECK, next is click EDIT and it will prompt you to the next page where you need to click OK.

3.On the next page please click the first check box below 'Edit Fields' and then please click Edit fields.

4. Please choose 'Item Description' and it will prompt you again to a different page where you need to choose ' edit listing in bulk- find and replace'

5.Inside the 'FIND' box please type there HTTP and inside the 'REPLACE WITH' box please type there HTTPS.

6. Click SAVE AND CLOSE and your listing will be good to go.

Hope this helps! I was also thinking I was never going to be able to leave my desk again lol!
