Non-compliance ad advice from ebay

Hi There All,

Just after some feedback as to why eBay suggests the below .......

* 2 of your listings contain(s) contact information such as a phone number, email address or weblinks, which is in violation of listing policies. Non-compliant listings will soon be blocked.

My Ads

https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/143359892431

https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/143359886985

There are no phone, email or known weblinks in my ad.

Could it be my images or text borrowed from the manufacturer's website ??

Would appreciate some advice.

Cheers

Fedger

All I can guess at is the under the tongue part of the description those numbers and letters maybe the bots are picking that up as a phone number or email?

According to this scan tool, there's a non-eBay link in those two listings, and one non-secure link:

http://www.isdntek.com/ebaytools/ActiveContentScanner.htm

I couldn't spot them, but if you revise your listing, switch to the HTML editor and then hit F3 to search for instances of http

Would the trademark have anything to do with it?

Probably not, as that's just text (unicode), rather than a number or link - you're not supposed to have characters like that in a title (which OP doesn't), but I guess maybe it could cause an issue if eBay's bots (and consequently that scan tool) somehow read it the same as an @, as I know I can't include that symbol in a message through eBay because eBay pretty much just automatically goes... email addresss! paniiic (I wasn't trying to send an email address when I discovered this, I was trying to provide some quotes, eg 50pcs @ $20 ).

I'm guessing the description text was copy/pasted and there's a link embedded in the text somewhere. I scanned the text (as in, visually, since they usually appear as an alternate colour, or at least underlined) but couldn't see one there.

This is common when using manufacturers text and may not show any signs that it is there unless you use html editor and look for the link.  My guess it would be with the trade names such as FLYTEFOAM® or FLUIDRIDE®.

Awesome thinking & feedback guys. Makes sense and will revise / edit accordingly and remove anything potentially interpretable as a link 👍
