Paid item returned as 'unclaimed', no response from buyer.

Hi, I sold and posted an item on 30/3/2014 after the buyer paid with Paypal. Went to collect the mail yesterday and there it was with 'unclaimed' on it from Aus. Post. I have emailed the buyer, but have received no reply, to this point. Do I simply reimburse or wait for a week to see if a reply comes in? Has never happened before, so not too sure what to do next. Many thanks.

Yes I would wait for a week or so. I had this happen.... buyer was taken to hospital they lived alone and couldn't get mail. After a while they contacted me and I resent.

I was wondering, harley, if the postage cost happened to be hefty, would you pay to resend out of your own pocket or would you ask the buyer to provide more money to repost? Just curious as to what an experienced seller would do in this situation.

I  would give the buyer the choice of a refund of item price only or to resend on receipt of a payment for postage.
