Refund

Hi,

A buyer has opened a case to ask for a refund on a fully working, great condition (still in original box) specialised midi file player just simply because he doesn't like it. The listing was very comprehensive in everything about the unit and the card supplied - plus there is plenty of information about them on the internet - why say when you have the unit that you didn't realise what it was?

Best offer was accepted, which took $45 off the price it was listed at.

Where do I stand on this?

Thank you

Refund

Also if the return reason given by the buyer is change of mind you are within your rights to charge a restocking fee if you accept the return.

But before you can do that you have to have a fee amount defined in your settings.

Do you normally accept refunds for change of mind? If you don't, then you are not obligated to accept it. However, I would still be inclined to accept it otherwise the buyer is just as likely to open a dispute for not as described and you'd be forced to refund as the buyer always wins. As it's a change of mind return, they are only entitled to a refund of the purchase cost, not postage in either direction.

Thanks for that - I think that would probably be best. Postage was free for the buyer and I dropped my price for him - so as there is nothing wrong with the player, I think it only fair he pays the return postage.

This is why local sellers are moving away from Ebay ,seems  buyers have more rights  here  than shop traders .
