Help Please.I am trying to list items for sale. I want to use the auction format but every time i put in the starting price it goes into the Fixed Price format. I have contacted Ebay and spoke to consumer service who put one item on for me and said problem would be fixed, and to go to my account details and change the password.
My account details are exactly as they have always been so no need to make any changes. I will contact Ebay again tomorrow as it is too late now. Anyone else had this problem? How do I fix it? I thank you all for your interest, advice and help. Regards, Patricia.

It's never happened to me .
How is changing the password going to fix the problem I wonder??
I feel ebay is dreaming if all problems were this easy to fix.
Hoping someone with more knowledge than me can help out..

I'd try copying an existing auction listing and just changing the details.

It might be worth changing the password as they advise, just in case.
In the meantime: just click on your existing auction listing and choose SELL SIMILAR.

Won't be anything to do with password I dare say.
Hate to state the obvious but you do have the auction tab selected instead of the fixed price tab ?
Just make sure it has changed to auction format before making the next entry, price etc.
Otherwise there is a site glitch when you try to change length of listing or others that it sometimes takes 3-4 tries before it sticks.
I think it is something to do with defaulting to currently most used formats.

Also try changing browser especially if you are using IE
