Why don't sellers would state in their advertisements that they don't post to post office boxes? :(

Can someone please tell me why sellers do not state on their ads that they do not post to PO boxes before you get to the pay now page. It is so annoying to have to try to get the bid retracted once you have said you would purchase. Is it a trick to get ones physical address for other purposes??

It is usually because they use a courier service rather than Auspost and courier companies cannot deliver to PO boxes.  Only Auspost (and their affiliates) has rights to do that.  If the postage section states postage by courier, it's a fair bet you will need a street address.

Cheers,

Surely you don't live in the P.O. Box. Why don't you change the address so that the item can be delivered to your place of residence just for these courier deliveries. I'm assuming that you are not the Phantom and it isn't a complete secret where you live

Did you click on the Postage tab in the listing?

If the seller has blocked PO boxes as a shipping address there should be info in the Postage section.
