Why is this Allowed to Happen?

This evening we listed an item in Antiques - Decorative Arts - Glass - Dishes.  A genuine antique dish around 130 years old.  Looking through other items in the category, around 150 listings are new plastic items (baby / children serving ware, plates cups etc.) and this is nearly 50% of total items in this category. These mainly come from overseas.  These items are also featured as Sponsored items (across the top of the page). It would seem eBay allows this practice to occur, thus diluting genuine antiques selling in this category.  Any thoughts or comments would be appreciated.

At a guess I suspect the items you are complaining about are listed by Chinese sellers.

They are virtually untouchable.....ebay Au can only complain to ebay China, who do nothing.

The sponsored listings are bringing in revenue to ebay so they are left alone.

We agree with you!  We have sent a complaint to eBay and it will be interesting to see if we get a response.

Please don't hold your breath waiting for a reply....you might turn blue.

Even if you get a reply it is not likely to be what you want to hear.
