pictures in the description body

is it still worth putting photos in the body of the description?

As  buyer I would say No. Prefer them in the (up to 12) provided spaces (slideshow, zoom in). Can look at them first and decide whether the item is what I want before going any further.

If the same photos are in the provided spaces and description area.. annoying seeing the same ones twice.

not so much anymore, as ebay picture hosting and size requirements has improved greatly and there is hardly a time when the pictures are down now it's not as important. I am slowly changing all my listings over from pics to a more simplified non picture in description listing.
