Hello book people,

I like to read before I go to sleep, and a few years ago I purchased a book of short stories. I think it was called Hell on High Seas by a reporter.

Fabulous book of very remarkable true stories at sea. 

I am looking for similar books, short stories, perhaps true stories and can be on any topic.

It's the concept of having a book with many short stories, one for each night that appeals to me.

If anyone has suggestions along these lines, I would appreciate the input.

What sort of stories do you like? Non-fiction, fiction, science fiction, fantasy? I ask as I have lots of old magazines with short stories, things like Fantasy & Science Fiction, Worlds of If and others of the ilk. They've all got fantastic stories and I'm happy to list some for you.

A few of the best selling authors have compendiums of short stories they've put together from various authors.

ie: Lee Child, Clive Cussler, James Patterson etc...

Thanks pete, it led me onto flying doctors stories as well, so I'm buying both.

Ben, I prefer true stories, but fiction ok, especially if it's adventure or exploring. Read Scotts journey, Fuchs journey and Edmund hillary recently.

Pete's not having a laugh, my name really isn't Ben. I do think it funny when people call me Ben, though.

Ok, I won't keep any of those books for you then as they're chock-a-block full of science fiction and fantasy. They're going back to the original owner. I'll keep my eye out for you as I go through my boxes getting rid of books.
