Warning Ebay Paypal payments

Ability in Paypal to use fake stolen dodgy aquired credit card info when doing purchases.

Unverified and without a Paypal account.

Just lodged an Acorn and scamwatch and odging with police and Fos today.

Paypal does not notify you that you have been paid via credit card.

So you dont get to refuse the sale.

Paypal also tries to avoid any responsibility and protection.

Its like in the old days of signature credit card over the phone all over again.

Except u could just say no we dont accept credit card over the phone.

Thanks for the warning and sorry to hear you've been scammed (well by the sounds of it - I am assuming that)

Good luck, hope you have a successful outcome.

Make sure you take cash on pick up items.

If someone uses PayPal on a pick up item of mine, I refund and message them to pay cash when they pick it up as there is no buyer or seller protection on pick up items.

Also means no PayPal fee.

Seeing as you sell some larger ticket items, I would be sending a message in eBay asking buyer to confirm delivery address.

This can then be used as evidence if a buyer does a chargeback citing unauthorised use of credit card through PayPal.
