Swings and roundabouts.
My sales tend to be steady, although if I have had a good month the last week can be pretty slow.

I can relate to your experiences. I just don't understand why it happens. Sometimes I feel like I'm just wasting my time here on eBay because it seems like I only sell items for one random day 10 day listing of 200+ items.

Yes!!, Then when you get sales you think "OK, good, back to normal now..." and then the drought continues......
Really funny those items you've had listed for months with no sales, then out of the blue you sell 3 or 4 in one day to all over the place.

The facts I had in the original post where downright scary. I had my tin foil hat on at the time, hence the delete.

Whilst the jury may be out as to whether eBay throttling exists, if you ask any brick & mortar seller, they will tell you the same thing happens in retail (for no obvious apparent reason). Maybe it is just the ebb & flow of randomness.
On the days we sell more than expected (I admit those days are now few & far between) we don't rush to the discussion boards stating eBay 'forced' more sellers to buy. However in the reverse situation we accuse eBay of throttling.
I think what you're seeing is a result of declining eBay sales in general & the lows now appear to be lower and more notiicable than in the past.
