57 offer messges from ebay on items not even watched

Hi everyone....  Just recently  I have found   because I only “look” at an item and do not even  add it to my Watch List, I get inundated with emails from eBay  and special offers from the sellers.   I didn't check ebay for two days and came back to 57 messages ...  all special offers on items I clicked on  to have a closer look and then  had  no further interest in .  If ebay is going to continue this it will almost certainly ruin the browsing experience for buyers and makes it quite difficult to  discern offers on items they have a genuine interest in.  I literally feel bombarded.  Is there a way to control these notifications ?

I have always only recieved offers on things I have placed on "Watch".

You can change your communication preferences in My ebay under Account.

Don't know if you can be selective or not though.

Thanks but I did have a bit of a poke around in that area and I don't think I can be that selective.   Is anyone else getting flooded with these messages. ?

Because you viewed this item, here's a special offer.

You could set up a filter to delete emails with that subject header. I don’t think it’s possible to prevent them with an eBay setting.

Sorry, no....but I have an ad blocker?? Someone will be around shortly that has experienced this, possibly??

Have you 'cleared cookies' lately?

I'm having the exact same problem. I've viewed a lot of items and am being bombarded with offers for items I don't want. It's frustrating because it makes it that much harder to see the offers I am interested in.

I wish we didn't get offers for items that we've only viewed/browsed. If eBay is going to continue this functionality, I think we should be able to delete offers without declining them. Then at least we could quickly delete unwanted offers as they arrive. Having to wait 48 hours or formally decline an offer, or otherwise be cluttered with offer spam, is a disincentive to browse on eBay.

I did eventually go to ebay about it and the only solution they came with was to clear my browsing or recenty viewed history continually.  I always forget to do this so I am still being bombarded.  I find most of the offers come when I browse internationally but having just said that I did get a few recently from  au browsing.  It has totally ruined my browsing experience and clogged up my messages.  I am also a seller and I can't imagine this is going to encourage people to use ebay.  Like you have said..... the items I am genuinely interested in completely get lost in all the rubbish offers I am getting.  I am sorry that I have no solutions for you.   I thought I was the only one having this problem !!!
