if a seller sends me the incorrect advertised item, is he liable to pay for the return of the item

I purchased an item on ebay and the seller has sent me the incorrect item.  The part does not fit the machine that it says it does. It is a different colour to the one advertised and is half the correct size for the model it says it's for.  I would like to know if I have to pay postage for the sellers stuff up.

Thank You

HAve you contacted the seller and advised of the issue?

That is the first thing to do.

Depending how they act will depend on what you do.

If you open a dispute for item not as described via ebay then escalate to a claim ebay will get you to print a return label through them and the seller then pays the return postage if what you say is correct in the item is not what was advertised.
