I agree that the item in question is innappropriate as per following ebay Rules.

"Media - With regard to media, nudity is permitted to the extent it constitutes a small and insignificant part of a catalog, book, periodical, or other work, which is not, as a whole, primarily devoted to sexual matters. Movies with PG, or R rating and pre-1980 Playboy, Playgirl and Penthouse magazines are permitted, but no photographs depicting nudity are allowed in these listings. Unrated media/movies must state that they are intended for all audiences and viewable by minors."

As you can expect  ebay cannot view all listing an rely on reports most of the time about incorrect content. So if you find it offensive Report it to ebay.

And for the replier s that hide within pedanticism. Even though the picture is of a book cover, is still is a photo..and therefore subject to the interpretations covered in the listing policies.

Agreed.  I've reported BDSM listings that kept appearing in my Save Search results.  Ebay did nought about it, at the end of several complaints.  Over the year following, I received Ebay feedback surveys that I responded to, not sure if they were related to it. Ebay do have filters in effect to prevent underage users accessing certain categories, but they're not enough.  When you lodge a complaint, you will get feedback surveys so that's your opportunity to deny them any closure until you see these images removed.

BTW, libraries do not hold such books with images like this in the General section.  Ebay should not be an exception to our standards.

Well given the context of this discussion that quote brings up some extremely porno images LOL

If you note the prohibition of nude images applies to the DVD and magazine etc categories, if you were not allowed to show a nude image then some reproductions of the most famous art works would not be allowed.

Anyone with intelligence would know what a dictionary is, so can use one to find words that describe certain "private parts", or go to a library, porn shop, ask your mummy or grab a dictionary.  

Art work is published material so it has a title to search for, and online databases like Ebay use keyword searches so a little basic research will help you find erotic artwork - no need to see it on a general public website.

I agree. There is know need to show a picture of that type of (please forgive the meaning) **bleep** picture on an auction site. There is a difference with boobs and the private area. To be honest I don't think they need to be pictures either. Its not being prude, its about being values and morals. Something that most European people seem to have forgotten

Phorum junkie....I note that you provide lots of opinions..maybe you should consider actually reading the ebay rules regarding offensive material before making such comments.

Ebay makes provision for what is acceptable and what you mentioned such as recognised artistic nudes such as cherubs and micelangelo's David etc.

I do not find a problem with artistic nudes..however the item in question is not a nude it is a picture of a specific item of genitalia and the content of the book is primarily concerned with matters of a sexual content.

So please I applaud your endeavours to provide some input. But would appreciate a little research prior to entering it so that it is informed input . which is what the writer is after...and not just a personal opinion.

In my humble opinion the cover sort of completely nullifies the premise of the book, seeing as no man or women in their right mind would condone women being made to look like prepubescent girls. Notwithstanding that it is de rigeur for Playboy these days.

While Middle-Eastern people who consider any woman wearing anything less than a burqa, hijab or niqab to be "naked" is equally preposterous and ** very disturbing ** and I would strongly oppose any complaint that it is.

 I agree 100% with you on that and it is preposterous, they do go over board. But when did I say that? I said European. I believe 99% of the writers here know what I mean. If they agree or not does not really matter as it is my opinion only. You wish to have your private part in a picture for all to see, fine. But I don't believe it needs to be here. After all, any other media that has those references is usually on request as they are kept out of the general public view or at your local adult shop for all to see. Take your pic
