EBAYS SYSTEM WILL NOT ALLOW A REQUEST FOR COMBINED POSTAGE ON SALE ITEMS!

TYPICAL EBAY - UP WITH THEIR FEES & DOWN WITH THEIR SERVICE ONCE AGAIN.

I want to purchase 2 lots

I’ve added the selections to my cart as the sale is not final until paid for.

The seller clearly states in their description to request a total for combined shipping but good ole greedy bay's system will not let me.. There is a flat postage for the 1st item & a reduced postage for the 2nd item.

When I click "request total from seller" for an invoice with combined shipping a pop up thanks to lousy ebay states - I can't as I've already got a discount from the seller.

That the discount is on the actual items, not on the combined shipping.

It is trying to charge $19.97 x 2 instead of $19.97 + $8.00 for the 2nd purchase.

How do I purchase?
I've added to my cart but can't request the combined shipping total to pay to complete the sale!
This is so annoying.

At this hour OF COURSE ebay can't be contacted.

I've emailed the US seller & will now have to wait & hope that the items that I want are still available when they are able to get to the message that I've sent.

I hope that tthe seller is annoyed as I am.  In the meantime, I'll be searching for non-ebay stockists!

I’ve reduced my spending by heaps & ceased selling on ebay completely.  

I buy via online (non-ebay) now whenever possible.

Looks like this sale will have to go off ebay as well unless it can be fixed easily & quickly.

For the ladies - this item is made by Playtex but Playtex Australia who I contacted previously, does not import this particular item into Australia & there are no Australian stockists!

Great for those of use with hand damage who need a specialised fastening!

I guess that ebay thinks that I'll give up & pay the full postage so they can claim their % of the full shipping.   GRRRRRRR  Greedybay!

This is the postage the system is charging you because these are the combined postage discounts the seller has set up and entered into the system. The items appear to be $86 each

when you input two items, it comes up with this

You can not request a combined postage invoice from your cart....you have to buy the items first and then the invoice should reflect the combined rate.  If it does not then you can contact the seller and request a manual combined invoice.

I agree with what you are showing & you could look at it either way.

It is listing for being able mix & match with colours as "MIX SHADES" is stated - I'm after 1 pack of black & one of white which had to be entered as individual items under the multiple options system.
Thus why the seller says to request the total for shipping.

As you have shown there, if I'd gone for 2 packs of the same colour & or size it would have been ok.

That still doesn't answer why at the time when I need to go to checkout does the Request total from Seller option appear but when it is clicked, it gives the message that I've already got a discount - which is a discount on the items as they are reduced but that is nothing at all to do with the shipping which is what the request the total button is for.

I'll post a reply when it works out!

ok, sorry, it was the best i could come up with...

I think it's a case of the seller wanting the system to do what it's not designed to do.

If they want to offer combined postage from 2 or more different items, then perhaps they also need to opt out of the requirement for instant payment.

Also is the copnsideration that the seller may have this on purpose to limit the amount of items you can buy.

I experienced this with some dinnersets recently.

Seller had 6 of one colour listed showing as $11.95 post and additional items free

then had the same for another colour

BUT, as it turned out, the seller was only prepared to offer that on each colour as the items came from different storage facilities, so difficult/impossible to combine actual sghipping iykwim

The seller isn't using immediate payment required, so it theoretically you should be able to use the BIN option on each item, then request a manual invoice. 

The request total from seller button on the cart is problematic at best, and will only work every so often (I used the function recently on items I had not yet committed to buy, and it worked fine, acting basically as a bulk BIN button, but at other times I received an error message).

Thank you - I tried to buy it now initially but it didn't work - came up with the usual - transaction is not complete & someone else may purchase until payment is made.

Just frustrating!  Past my bedtime now - getting tired & cranky!

I am not sure whether eBay had a problem with its email system late yesterday, concerning asking for a combined invoice with discounted postage.

I had a buyer buy 2 items on a normal listing, I waited about an hour or so but the buyer had not contacted me, so I emailed her & asked whether she was to buy anything else from me.

Her reply was that she had already sent a message asking for combined postage - this is some 19 hours later & still that email has not arrived.

About 18 hours ago I sent the buyer a combined invoice with the discounted postage, but have not heard back from her & no payment - I'm wondering if that invoice has gone walk-about as well.  Looks as tho I will have to wait to see.

The seller I was wanting to purchase from has said to buy & pay, send an email & they will refund the difference which is great.

Re emails - they don't always arrive promptly.

I often get emails saying an item is ending soon when the item had ended 2 or 3 days earlier.

Same with invoices - had a few never arrive.

Some emails x ebay arrive twice which is better than not at all.

If I send a question, invoice or request a total - the copy to my own email always arrives within minutes.

Strange - gremlins!!!!!!!

I keep saying it & with my pattern of use nothing is changing my mind - ebay is getting greedy, up with the fees & down with the service.  This seems to be across lots of different aspects.  Lots more errors when opening pages is another thing I've noticed.

It seems to be almost always the ebay site while other companies are ok.
