Yes, people can google, but the real point is, if you are writing a reply to someone, should they really need to go off site before they can understand it? My take on it is it is in the long run easier for newbies if you spell it out. I guess you have to ask yourself who is your target audience. If it is the regulars, we will know it, if it is someone new, they probably won't.
