I just tried to buy a letterbox online. The site took me straight to the confirming the purchase without giving me the opportunity to apply the $10 discount that was originally offered. Also no cost was provided for postage/transport cost. I would recommend never proceeding with such purchases especially when they lock you in as this one did.

Usually you have to add an item to the cart rather than buying it straightaway when you want to apply a code.

Do you have 'one step payment' option ticked?
As for postage, all their listings for letterboxes state freight, contact seller for details
Did you read the item description?
The listing also clearly state (in bold on a red background)
If your post code is not under free postage area, please contact us for the freight cost, thank you
Did you do so before buying? and if not, why would you expect it to provide a postage cost for you?
And you are not locked in, the seller cannot force you to pay
They can report you if you don't, but unless you get another non payment strike, nobody is going to know anything about it
