Overseas sellers

How sick I am of sellers claiming to have stock in Australia only to have deliveries blow out to in excess of 6 weeks after placing an order.  These sellers think that because they supply a tracking number straight away that is somehow proof that the stock was in Australia, when it is evident it was actually held in China.  And to actually claim “Australian stock” on the selling page is just a total lie.  EBay really must get rid of these sellers who continually drive buyers mad as well as away from eBay.

If you go to the sellers feedback page, you can easily see where they are registered. It is usually displayed under their feedback, or in the "About"section.

Ignore item location.

In saying that, there are some Aus based sellers who are drop shipping from China, but there are also overseas registered sellers who do keep stock in Australia. Or there might even be sellers who are Aus registered and do have some stock, but when they run out, they order in from China. Hard to say exactly, as there are many scenarios, none of which are illegal.

All you can do is check where seller is registered and what their negative feedback is like to get some idea of how your transaction will fare.

And anyway, Ebay makes a killing on the fees, so why would they remove these sellers?

Really annoying, especially when you filter by item location

You then need to filter by : CLOSEST TO ME.

scroll past the sponsored listings and then you’ll get Aussie stock. But due diligence will always pay off in the end. 😉
