Hi all,
Just wondering if anyone has some advice. Today I was the winning bidder (just over $200) for a cash on pick up item. I messaged the seller and gave a contact number.
The seller has called and explained that they want more money for the item, as they had it listed as an auction, with a buy it now price of $500.00. The item went to auction, and I am the winning bidder. She has said that she wants at least $300.00. My partner explained that she is obligated to sell at the end of auction price, and that we will contact Ebay if she does not comply. She has stated that "we will talk about it".
Has anyone experienced this, or have far more time than I do (disabled child to care for), to be looking into how to deal with this?
Many thanks in advance for any help offered.
Jenn

In these circumstances with a newbie seller who probably thinks the BIN is a reserve I would explain to them how it really works but that I would not report them to ebay or leave a neg as they are a newbie but a future buyer may not be as understanding. Presume it is the Traditional Wood Ash Bedroom Furniture, if so then they are clueless as they have offered COD as a paymrnt method.
With an experienced seller I would let them have it with both barrels.

Thank you everyone for all your time and help. I sincerely appreciate the time and your knowledge that you have invested in helping us. I am late in replying as I have been on a very long drive today with my son to take him to see yet another specialist.
I have sent a couple of very polite, respectful and understanding messages to the seller. The husband has now called and said that his wife did not understand. I believe they will follow through with the sale as it is meant to be, although they are limiting the pick up time severely. (Only Wednesday afternoon), which is a nightmare for us, but we will do it just to keep the peace.
I did report it, and have explained this to her, but also said that it is an interim report, and that nothing further will happen if she upholds the sale. I have also said that in that instance I will not leave negative feedback.
I believe it is an honest mistake, and yes to all you darling clever ones, it is the bedroom set. How you know this is completely beyond me! 🙂
You have my word that I will only post once in future, as like all of us, I make mistakes and have plenty to learn. (otherwise I would not have needed to ask for help in the first instance).
I will let you all know how it goes. Once again thank you all. You are much appreciated.
Kind regards,
Jennifer

I hope they do come true to their word, and you can pick it up on Wed at the sale price.
Don't worry about posting twice, it doesn't really matter at all.
