Have a tracking number from seller but tells me nothing only the number contacted seller no response dont know where my item is.

A few more details please.....where is the seller situated and what postal service is being used?

The tracking number must say something.....is it an invalid number, or does it say there are no tracking details yet?

Sometimes nothing shows on the tracking details till the item arrives in the mail sorting centre closest to where the recipient lives. I have noticed this on items that have been sent to me from Melbourne. It shows that the item has been entered into the system but nothing else till the day it arrives in Brisbane and goes to the sorting place at Underwood.
