Hi all I haven’t been on the forum for ages but I’m back with some new or old but new to my possession Asian pottery and ceramics. While I can seem to figure out and find the markings that correlate to Chinese Pottery Marks the marks I have on these few items bases I can’t seem to find any exact information for what each line represents exactly. I know how to read left to right and what portions stand for what but I can’t read Japanese or Chinese I can only match up the letters or marks that are identical to some items I have or half will match and so on.
i would like to find out what the markings stand for but also what the era of the make is and or any other information to the style or anything else that a dealer or antique or vintage ware professional can identify and so on. Any info and price ranges or estimates would be hehe at too. But namely looking for a English translation on the stamps and if it’s not stamped in Japanese or Chinese rather just a “Japan” or “Made In China” means for the dating or era of make? Thanks any info welcome.
Most of these items I cant find any correlations online that indicate where or what era they are from or were made in or who they were made under or for being emperor or other rulers.
I’ll start with the vases. These MAY be Chinese or Japanese or replicas I don’t know so these first section is Asian ware’s of Unknown Origin.
Item list for inspection:
No1.
Orange and Gold Gilt HoneyComb food dog ears and 4 cobras I believe the marking photo is side ways but it may be the correct way I’m not sure. Any info would be OF HUGE HELP.
No2.

Set of 5 Saki Cups that have differing lady’s on them and I wonder if they are any special kind or that may be not a huge production of these? Any information great.
No 11.
Lastly I have this metal Buddhist? Or Asian Bell of some kind that has various scriptures on it and symbols on each flank on the rim. Any information on an approximate time and or what it reprise take or who it was made for or by would be great to find out also.

Thank you for the assistance!
The sake cup looks like a Kutani pottery mark. Two of Japan's most famous potteries are in Kyoto, Kutani and Kiyomisu.
Usually "made in Japan" was used on post WW2 items.
can you help me get Kopes opinions? Can we tag this person or how to get in touch? Their profile?? Thanks

Do you have any other info on the items them-self? Any info for the bell or the tea strainer? Is that what it is? And or anything else you know about these items?
Some have since sold the orange and the one below but we found small firing chip on the rim a perfect semi circle v small. But still a chip/fault. Still it’s sold and the two paired picture junger hat and smaller vase sold recently. For update purposes.

Age of bell looks late 19th/early 20th century, but it is not specifically my field.

Sorry gang. Have just seen this for the first time.
I'm very busy with work these days so don't always have time to peruse all the boards.
I shall get back later this arvo hopefully with some answers. 🙂
The sake cups look like decals and will simply have the artists name from the original art.
A little like taking a photo of the art and sticking it on cups.

No 1. This is a common mark and basically says it is from Jingdezhen province, the porcelain capital of China.
A modern piece.
No 5. Appears to be kutami, again another modern piece.
No 6. This mark is often used and is a poem of sorts. 'Bird whispering, flower scent'. A modern piece.
No 7. Also a modern piece, characters mean 'ceramic art'
The bell, not very old. Characters at the top mean 'Bell and flat (ping)' not sure the meaning of that.
I have left the most interesting piece to last which may be very valuable.

N0 2. The characters read - year made ming dynasty, Chengua emperor.
Now if this is genuinely from 1464 - 1487 it is indeed rare.
It could simply be depicting the emperor and the times.
What concerns me is the black around the rim of the base and the mark not being written very neatly.
Also the vase in general looks too new with plenty of life in the colours for a 600 year old vase.
It could be a cheap copy but could also be the real thing.
That item is worth having an Asian arts expert look at it IMO.
Good luck. 🙂
